Industrial Hygienist

Garden State Environmental, Inc. (GSE) is an independent environmental, health and safety (EHS) consulting firm, in business since 1985. We have an opening for an experienced Environmental/Industrial Hygiene professional. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of a well established and growing consulting company. Work involves consulting and conducting testing services in the industrial hygiene, safety and environmental fields with an emphasis on indoor environmental issues. Examples include performing sites inspections and environmental sample collection, evaluating data, preparing reports and developing remedial strategies. Cases often involve such topics as: occupational exposures to chemical, physical and biologic agents, indoor air contaminants, mold, asbestos, etc. Work also includes conducting training programs on a variety of EHS compliance topics.

The position requires routine travel to our client locations throughout NJ, metro NY and eastern PA. Periodic overnight travel, night and weekend work may be required. Flexibility in working from home office is possible. All expenses will be paid by GSE.

Applicants should have at least a bachelor’s or masters degree in a scientific or related field. Minimum of five (5) years experience in industrial hygiene or environmental science is required. Successful applicant must also be “business minded” and interested in growing into a management role.

Candidates must have the physical ability to complete essential job tasks and to work independently and as part of a team, have strong verbal and written communication skills, good organization skills and must be dependable, disciplined, flexible and detail oriented. Applicants must have good computer skills and a safe driving record. GSE offers a competitive compensation and benefit package.
